Feeling Blah

I am home from school again today and I hate that. I haven't been in for a full week since Christmas. I had a sinus infection the week after break, then last Monday and Tuesday I had pink eye so had to stay home then. Just when I thought I was out of the woods I started to get a terrible sore throat and swollen glands Friday night. Sunday I went to the doctor and sure enough I have strep. I can't seem to catch a break. I feel like once my immunity is down I am susceptible to everything. Now my doctor wants me to stay home from work until Wednesday but I really hate to do it. I don't like leaving my class in someone else's hands, even though we are really blessed at my school for the most part with good subs. I was so praying for a snow day today so that I wouldn't have to call in, but it didn't snow as much as they had predicted. I am hoping to feel better by tomorrow so I can go back. Here's hoping...

Just Call Me Bob Vila

I got so much done around our house during Christmas break and it feels wonderful. I finally sat down, with a little help from daddy, and learned how to use a miter saw. Once I got over the initial fear of using such a large and noisy power tool I was off and running. The people who lived in my house before me left a lot of stuff half finished, and part of that was no baseboard moulding in most of the house. So, I painted and added new moulding in the dining room, theater, and living room. I also finally repaired the last of the flood damage by adding new drywall to the theater room. Finally, I repainted the doors in my living room white, and the walls "green tea" green, which as it turns out is shockingly bluish. It's okay, we love blue, it's just that almost every room in the house is now a different shade of it. There is still more work to do around here, but a house is never really done. Who says girls aren't handy?

My only regret is that I barely rested at all and most nights I was up working until almost 2AM. This ran me down and caused me to get a cold. Once I get going with soemthing, I don't know when to stop. It was great to get together with both family and friends over vacation. I am very grateful for all the wonderful people in my life and for my "growing better by the day" home.
